Transitioning into Winter Season

When you think about our skin’s condition and winter☃, a few things come to mind: dry, dull, flaky, and parched skin. So what’s the secret to keeping our skin radiant and protecting it from the extreme wind🌫 and cold🌪? Hydration, hydration, and hydration of course! Besides drinking the recommended daily intake of water and maintaining a healthy diet, it’s important to focus on certain steps and adding the correct products to our skincare routines.

Double Cleansing - Not everyone chooses to double cleanse (and perhaps it’s fine for the hot summer months or if you don’t wear makeup), but if you’re looking to keep your skin hydrated, always start with a cleansing balm or an oil cleanser before reaching for that foam cleanser! Not only does the oil based cleanser remove make up and impurities, it also moisturizes your skin!

Essences - The best way to maintain moisture is to layer on products. So instead of going straight for the heaviest cream you can find, look for your best suited essence or one that boosts hydration and make sure it’s added to your routine!

Sheet Masking - As mentioned previously in our Sheet Mask post, it’s clear that sheet masks penetrate those benefiting essences onto our skin for maximum absorption. It’s a great way to give your skin that extra boost of hydration for the winter. So throw on your favorite sheet mask, relax for 20-30 minutes, and up your sheet masking game to 3-4 times a week.

Moisturizing - During the summer when it’s hot and humid, you may tend to decrease steps in your skincare routine and use lotions or gel creams as your final step. But when winter hits, our skin screams for hydration and that lotion or gel cream just might not cut it. So if you’re one to get extremely dry, flaky skin when the cold weather hits, consider changing up your moisturizer to a cream.

Sleeping Masks/Packs - If using a cream during the day isn’t something that works for you, consider using a Sleep Pack as your final step before bed and let it work its magic while you get some much needed beauty sleep! Sleep masks/packs are a great way to give your skin a great boost in hydration. And who doesn’t want to wake up to soft, radiant skin first thing in the morning?

SPF - Many people are extremely diligent with applying SPF during the summer (especially when it’s sunny outside), but when fall and winter comes along, people think SPF isn’t necessary anymore. UVA and UVB can still damage your skin! It’s best to make the application of an SPF a habit, and apply every day, regardless of season.

Well, there you have it! A few tips and tricks to change up your skincare routines so your skin is ready to battle the winter months!😊
